Four Bent Fingers

Objective

You will be given a 4 letter word. Using only your RIGHT HAND, hold the first letter on your keyboard with your pointer finger, the second letter with your middle finger, the third letter with your ring finger and the fourth letter with your little finger. 

It is essential that you listen to the audio cues to know what the 4-letter words are. However, if you didn't quite catch what was said or need clarification on how the word is spelled, you can give the computer an audio cue yourself by saying the word, "Repeat, spell or restart". In order to give these audio cues, you will need the microphone permission turned on. Also, speech recognition may not be supported by all browsers (I found it worked on Chrome but not on Edge for me).

Controls

• Keep holding the correct 4 letter keys on your keyboard
• Say "Repeat" - Repeats the last thing that the computer said
• Say "Spell" - The current 4 letter word will get spelled on the screen
• Say "Restart" - Restarts the game from the very beginning
• Press + or - to adjust music volume

This game was made using Construct 3 and it was made for GDKO 2024 - Round 2

• Task: Create a game where audio cues are essential to the gameplay

Updated version

• I have reduced the sound
• You can hold the letters TIP to spell the current word (Useful if saying 'Spell' in the microphone is not working)
• You can right click on your mouse to skip to the next word (Useful if your keyboard has a low key rollover, which would have previously prevented you from getting any further in the game)
• I have changed 7 of words so that the game is a little bit easier and so that the keys are more likely to be supported on a wider range of keyboards
• There's now no spoilers in this description page because I don't have anything too tricky I hope. Maybe the last one is hard for some people but it can be easy depending on how you try and solve it
